STEP 1

The first step is to fill out our application. You've already done this! Thank you so much!

 No worries if you have absolutely 0 legal experience. We love to see people from all backgrounds. 

STEP 2

Next, you'll get a call from someone on staff. This is your chance for a Q&A, to get a thorough understanding of what we do and what we're about. At the end of the call - you'll get an email with our volunteer handbook, our statement of faith, and our confidentiality agreement. 

STEP 3

Once you've returned the signed forms you'll be set up with an email account through our G-suite. This will allow you to have a safe method of communication with clients, you'll have access to our intranet and clinic pages, and you'll also be able to easily share information between other GSA volunteers and staff.

STEP 4

Now that you're officially part of the team - head on over to our intranet and take a look. This is how you'll get to see information about each clinic before they take place. Our client coordinators will upload the intake forms and any extra documents our clients might have provided, along with the schedule and team assignments for that specific clinic. You can research the legal issues you'll be seeing, communicate with your team, and after clinics are over - leave a comment on the clinic page summarizing your experience with each client. Remember though, confidentiality is a big part of what we do, so keep the intranet between you and us!

STEP 5

Sign up for a clinic! Each of our clinics have their own method of communication for sign-ups. Some use email chains, some use spreadsheets, and some use signupgenius.com You will get an email about a week or so before the clinic date. You'll be able to indicate whether or not you're able to attend. If  you are, you'll be assigned to a team. You can see this team on the clinic page in the intranet.
