Make a Difference
Our communities need YOU!
Spread the love of Jesus Christ to those in need!
You don't have to be a lawyer to help with Legal Aid!
Minimal Time Commitment!
No experience necessary!
Please join us in helping the low income and impoverished people in our community. There are many ways in which you can help.
Our Volunteer Roles include:
Attorney Volunteers - Barred in MD, VA, and any other state - we need you to lend your legal wisdom and compassionate ears to clients during clinic meetings. No experience necessary. We have resources to help you learn the basics of legal fields relevant to our clients. And we always pair up new attorneys with more experienced attorneys licensed in the respective state. Clinic volunteers provide basic legal advice to clients, but generally do not provide full representation. Volunteers decide themselves how much assistance they wish to provide to clients outside of the clinic meetings.
Referral Attorneys – We are always in need of experienced attorneys able to provide representation outside of our clinic sessions! Please contact us if you or someone you know can help with family law, general civil litigation, consumer issues, and housing cases.
Paralegal Volunteers - Be the client's eyes and ears and help document advice during clinic meetings. No legal experience needed, just be able to take great notes so our clients and attorneys can stay focused on the issue at hand!
Administrative/IT Volunteers - Simple computer skills make you a great addition to our team! We need a volunteer who can help manage documents and update our database after each clinic.
Hospitality Volunteers - We need welcoming people to provide warm greetings and help direct clients and other volunteers to where they need to be.
Our clinics each meet one Saturday morning per month
Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, MD - 2nd Saturday of each month
Reston Bible Church in Dulles, VA - 3rd Saturday of each month
Columbia Baptist Church (Crossroads Campus) in Falls Church, VA - 4th Saturday of each month
Volunteer time commitment is usually from 9am-1pm.
*Clients usually complete intake forms ahead of time so attorneys will be aware of the situations and issues before the clinic date, and able to do any pertinent research or preparation they deem necessary.*
Our clinic volunteers are practicing Christians representing many church traditions from throughout Northern Virginia and Montgomery County, Maryland.
We provide Professional Liability Insurance Coverage for all our legal clinic attorneys. We also provide periodic training throughout the year for our attorney and non-attorney volunteers.
